The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA) will be a 21st Century Interactive Museum that documents the history and ongoing contributions of Italian Americans and Italians in the context of our multi-ethnic city and nation.
The Italian American Museum will be located in the Italian Hall, which was constructed in 1908 and served as the Italian community's gathering place for decades.
Corsini Stark Architects of Los Angeles along with design team consultants will lead the project.
The Museum will function as a multi-purpose space that, in addition to featuring exhibitions, will host events and cultural-educational programming. The Museum’s audience will be exceptionally diverse, consisting of visitors of all ages and origins. Its annual visitation is expected to exceed two million people, of which 300,000 will be students.
